I am investigating the movement behaviour of migratory mammals, i.e. bats.

Fascinated by their journeys, I apply new experimental approaches to address fundamental questions in spatial cognition, signal detection and behaviour that were inaccessible even a few years ago. Thereby, I try to identify the sensory organs that are necessary to process environmental information relevant to orientation and navigation over long distances.
